Welcome to the Home Environment Detox Program!
This is the first blog for the program so I just want to take a little time introducing the ideas, meanings and aims behind the program.
Firstly, the program is free and open to all. Secondly, it is a reasonably intense program over a 4 week period so take it easy, be kind and its ok to fall off the wagon and then to jump back on at any time. Thirdly, a home detox program does not replace proper healthcare and advice from a qualified medical practitioner.
The overarching aim of the home detox program is to improve your knowledge, understanding and skills in caring and maintaining your home environment for maximum health benefits. Health benefits is a broad term encompassing all the things that keep us vibrant, happy and functional. It includes all the physical, emotional and financial factors that impact on our ability to live life to the fullest (vibrantly, happily and functionally). I refer to this as the VHF factor. I want you to improve your VHF factor and hope you can achieve this by participating in the 4 week program.
Not enough time? I understand. So over the 4 weeks I will additionally upload the not enough time (NET) program. Its designed to cut the one hour weekly session down into a few minutes. Now who doesn't have a few minutes to improve their VHF factor? Sure, you wont have the indepth background information, but you can always come back to that later.
A little about myself. My name is Natasha. I am a current PhD research candidate in public health at Griffith University on the Gold Coast (Australia). My qualifications are in biological sciences, health science and journalism. I am also the founder of organic oils direct, an online network designed for improving access to affordable essential oils. My particular research interest areas are environmental health, occupational health and safety and community aged care.
Now for the basic design of the program.
